Telemedicine Visit in Illinois

New Patients

All patients must have at least one of the qualifying conditions to apply for a medical certification. After verifying you meet at least one qualifying condition, ensure you have what you need for a smooth appointment process by reviewing what to have available for your telemed appointment.

Existing Patients

We offer recertification for patients who because of various reasons do not have their card anymore.

Maryland Patient Medical Cannabis Card Instructions

  1. Create an Account and Submit Your State Application
    • Maryland’s medical cannabis program is now run by the Maryland Cannabis Administration (MCA), formerly the MMCC.
    • OneStop Portal
      • Go to the OneStop Maryland Portal
      • Create a New Patient Account under “Patients”
          • You’ll need a valid email address — you must verify it by clicking the link sent to you, or your application won’t be considered.
      • Complete the online demographic application and upload your documents.
  2. Required Documents to Upload
    • Gather these documents and scan/photograph them clearly before starting your application:
      • State-Issued Photo ID
      • Passport-Style Digital Photo
        • Taken against a white or cream-colored wall, without glasses or head coverings.
  3. Fees & Submission
    • Pay the $25 application fee through the OneStop Portal.
    • Once your account is approved, you’ll receive your MMCC/MCA Patient ID Number and Username — your physician will need these to submit your formal certification.
    • Your registration is valid for 3 years; your physician’s certification must be renewed annually.
  4. Approval and Accessing Your Card
    • Wait for Approval
      • Applications are typically processed within 2–4 weeks (often faster).
    • Get Certified
      • Provide your Patient ID Number to your physician so they can certify you in the system.
    • Access Your Card
      • Once certified, log back into the OneStop Portal to access your digital patient ID for use at dispensaries.

Caregiver and Minor Requirements

  1. If the patient is a minor (under 18)
    • A parent or legal guardian must register as the patient’s caregiver and receive a Caregiver ID Number before the minor can be certified.
  2. If the patient is an adult using a caregiver
    • The caregiver completes a similar registration on the OneStop Portal. Once issued a Caregiver ID Number, the patient adds the caregiver to their account under Add/Remove Caregiver.
    • Both the Patient ID Number and Caregiver ID Number are required at dispensaries.
